Recruitment Week

Over the past few decades, "fraternities" have partially earned the reputation that proceeds them from communities, universities, and peers. Movies such as "Animal House" give a misperception as to the true honor, friendship, and leadership that they develop. The history and brotherhood of some fraternities date back to before the civil war, including my fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, which was founded in 1856. Over the past 150 years, 282 Chapters have formed at Universities all over the country, and over a quarter million brothers have been initiated. The Insignia that represents our fraternity, a badge in which there lies a lion, the greek letters Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Phi Alpha, are individually numbered, and I was the 274, 690 brother to be initiated into the brotherhood of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. As a pledge to this fraternity I learned of the great history and comrodary of past presidents (William McKinley), prohibition agents (Eliot Ness), CEO's(Chris Sullivan, Outback Steakhouse) and olympians (Bradley Schmacher) just to name a few!
